The Alexander Hughes Community Center is a 31,000 square foot building located adjacent to Lewis Park. It opened in Summer 2001 and accommodates the Recreation and Human Services Department Administrative Team.
The Alexander Hughes Community Center has various rooms available for Claremont non-profit organization usage. Reservations may be completed up to twelve (12) months in advance but must be reserved one (1) month in advance.

The computer lab is open to the public and offers nine (9) computers with internet and printing access. All computer lab users are required to complete a registration card and provide a photocopy of a state issued identification card when first using the computer lab. Computer lab users can print for free but must provide their own paper or purchase paper for 10¢ per page with a max of thirty (30) pages per person, per day. Enjoy a game of pool, ping pong, or both! The room is equipped with a pool and ping pong tables, as well as seating areas. Pool and ping pong equipment may be checked out at the front desk for collateral. Guests are welcome to use their own equipment. Filled with books, small toys, puzzles, and seating areas for adults and children, the Eucalyptus Room serves as a small entertainment space for younger children. Please reference Eucalyptus Room Rules(PDF, 103KB) for full detailing of room usage.
Operated by Children's Source LLC, the ABC's for Me Preschool & Tiny Tots Program offers full and half day programs for ages 2-5 years. Programs are located at the Alexander Hughes Community Center and Lewis Park.

The City of Claremont reserves the right to refuse service to individuals who do not abide by the Human Services individual facility's Code of Conduct(PDF, 264KB), which may be found predominantly displayed at each facility. Individuals who are refused service for infractions of the Code of Conduct will either be refunded the prorated amount for the rest of the class or asked not to participate in recreation classes with the department in the future or be transferred to a different class.
