LA Regional Food Bank Commodity Supplemental Food Program

The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank's Commodity Supplemental Food Program distributes free food kits to qualified adults ages 60+; kits are prepared to meet the specific nutritional needs of older adults.

Inland Valley Hope Partners Food Pantry and Family Stabilization Program

Inland Valley Hope Partners Food Pantry and Family Stabilization Program provides food and supportive services to the community.

Community Emergency Fund

One-time emergency funds are available for Claremont seniors and families experiencing difficulty paying their rent/mortgage or utilities bills due to an emergency or crisis. The money for this fund comes solely from donations and is not federally funded.

Applications are accepted Monday - Thursday at the Joslyn Center.

Phone Assurance Line (PAL)

Available to seniors who are:

  • Age 60 or older, or a disabled person of any age
  • A Claremont resident

Volunteers make daily telephone calls to eligible seniors who live alone to offer socialization and monitor their well-being. In addition, these seniors have easy access to the services provided by the Claremont Senior Program, which contributes to a good quality of life.

Free Legal Services For Low-Income Seniors

Legal services are available to low-income seniors. Both Bet Tzedek and Neighborhood Legal Services are scheduled at Palomares Senior Center one day a month.

Meals On Wheels

This is a private, nonprofit, all-volunteer organization and community service, delivering nutritious hot midday meals, Monday through Friday, to people living independently but who are unable to shop/cook for themselves and who have no alternative source of meals.

Postal Alert

There are some older residents and disabled persons in Claremont who have no family or friends who can routinely check on their welfare. This program is designed to identify those who may need that extra contact or help.
