Heroes Banner Program
Every year the City of Claremont honors local veterans/active-duty service members by hanging the Claremont Heroes Banners for Veterans Day. Heroes Banners are hung on behalf of veterans/active-duty service members who live in or lived in Claremont, attend or attended Claremont schools, and/or their immediate family live in Claremont.
Banners are hung once a year just prior to Veterans Day and are removed the first week of January. If you are interested in having a banner hung in the City for you or your loved one, please read below for additional details.
- Banners go up each year in the first week of November, right before Veterans Day. They are taken down the first week of January.
- The family of the service member/veteran must purchase their banner. The cost of the banner is $200. The banner will be hung for five years. The City will then evaluate the banner. Depending on the condition, after five years, the City will evaluate on a year-by-year basis and can extend the lifetime of the banner. Once the banner has been deemed faded/damaged, the banner will be retired, and the family can decide to repurchase a new banner.
- The City will coordinate with the printing company to get the banner printed and hang the banner at no additional cost to the family.
- The City will store the banners until they are hung again the next year.
- If we are able, we will try to accommodate placing your banner in an area that is preferred to you.
- If you are interested in purchasing a banner, please fill out the application below.
