Get ready for an unforgettable summer adventure at Camp Claremont! Designed for children entering grades 1-6, this 6-week, Monday–Friday day camp runs from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Taylor Hall (1775 N. Indian Hill Blvd). Campers will enjoy a variety of fun activities, including arts and crafts, games, sports, and exciting weekly themes that will keep them engaged and active through the summer. Don’t miss out on a summer filled with fun, memories, learning, and adventure right here in Claremont! Week 1: To Infinity and Beyond (June 23-27)

Blast off to Infinity and Beyond, where the wonders of science and space await! This week, campers will embark on an exciting journey through the cosmos, exploring the mysteries of the universe and the science that makes it all possible. With hands-on experiments and engaging activities, we’ll float through space, dodging rogue asteroids, and launch handmade rockets. Week 2: Medieval Renaissance (June 30-July 4)

Here ye, here ye! This week, we are traveling back in time to the enlightenment of the renaissance. Knights will frolic alongside unicorns and dragons, defending the land of Camp Claremont! We will be capturing the flags of enemy kingdoms, designing our own group's medieval crests, and firing canon dodgeballs across the forest! 4th of July will be closed.

Week 4: Claremont Hometown Heroes (July 14-18)

Join us at Camp Claremont this week for an exhilarating celebration of your favorite heroes! We're thrilled to connect with our very own local champions, the Claremont Police Department! They’ll be sharing their knowledge about public service and safety, while joining in on the fun with our young heroes. Don’t miss out on the delicious Ice Cream Social with City Dignitaries, where treats and smiles abound. It’s going to be an unforgettable week filled with inspiration, learning, and sweet moments!

Week 5: Under the Sea (July 21-25)

Prepare your scuba gear! Camp is leaving behind the desert sands for the depths of the ocean. This week, we will learn all about what creatures’ dwell in the deep blue sea (hopefully we don't run into a kraken!) While we host a water day every week of camp, this week will be especially water-logged. We will search for buried treasure, create collages of shells and sea stones, and most importantly, splash around. Can't wait to sea you there!

Camp Claremont Eligibility

Camp Claremont is open to children who live in or attend school within the City of Claremont. Proof of residency is required at the time of enrollment or when creating a new online account.

Enrollment for Camp Claremont opens online on Sunday, April 13 at 8:00 a.m. Participants who register online will have the $15 enrollment fee waived.

 

 

In-Person Registration

In-person registration begins at the Alexander Hughes Community Center on Monday, April 14 at 9:00 a.m. Please note that participants must have completed kindergarten to be eligible for camp.

Scholarship Eligibility

Need-based scholarships are available for families who meet income eligibility requirements. Scholarship applications must be submitted at least one week prior to registration for review and approval. Scholarships must be approved before registering your child for camp, as same-day approvals are not available, and scholarships cannot be applied retroactively.

VOLUNTEER PROGRAM:

Camp Claremont is currently seeking dedicated volunteers entering 8th – 12th grade. Applicants must have completed 7th grade to apply. This program offers a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable job experience, build leadership skills, looks great on college applications, and even prepares for a future role as a recreation leader, all while giving back to the community.

Volunteer Information

As a volunteer, you’ll work alongside our staff, assisting with daily camp operations from 7:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Volunteers will help supervise participants, set up and tear down daily activities, and assist staff in the snack bar. Committing to all 6 weeks of camp is required to ensure consistency and a smooth experience for participants. Volunteers must also communicate with supervisors in advance if they are unable to attend a scheduled day.

By joining the Camp Claremont Volunteer Program, you’ll demonstrate your ability, attitude, and dependability in a professional setting. Volunteers will receive a Camp Claremont T-shirt to wear daily and are expected to maintain a professional demeanor while working with staff, participants, and other volunteers.

A $30 non-refundable application fee is required to apply for the program. Please note, this fee does not guarantee acceptance into the volunteer program.
