You may obtain the required forms here, in person at City Hall, or you may contact our office to request them by fax, email or the US mail. Completed forms must be delivered with payment in person at City Hall or by US mail.

From a Residence within Claremont:

From a Commercial Location within Claremont:

Within Claremont but Office Location is Not in Claremont:

Is My Business Tax Certificate Transferable? No. Certificates are terminated when business ownership or location changes. Please advise the Business License Office when you relocate or terminate your business for any reason.

Zoning & Building Regulations

Special Permits & State Licensing
Some types of businesses require special permits and/or licensing, which must be obtained prior to submitting a business license application. For additional information or staff assistance, please contact the Financial Services Department at (909) 399-5398.

Sign Regulations
The City of Claremont has a sign ordinance, which requires a permit for the display of advertising flags and banners. If you plan on installing a new sign or making changes to an existing one, please contact the Community Development Department at (909) 399-5470.

Burglar Alarm Permit
If you plan on installing an alarm, permits are required by the City to ensure that alarm systems are in compliance with the alarm ordinance. Contact the Police Department at (909) 399-5411.

Post Your Business Tax Certificate
Business Licenses (Business Tax Certificates) must be posted in public view at the fixed location of the business. If no fixed location exists in the City, the responsible party must carry the Business License with them while conducting business in Claremont.
