Residential Recycling Center
The City of Claremont's Residential Recycling Center is located at the City Yard - 1616 Monte Vista Avenue. The recycling center is south of the administrative building. Residents can drop-off their recyclables at this facility: paper, cardboard, glass, plastic, metal, and aluminum.
The hours of operation are:
Friday, Saturday & Sunday - Open 24 Hours
Please do not discard household hazardous waste such as used motor oil or large household items such as furniture at the center. To schedule curbside collection for used motor oil/filters and/or to schedule a bulk item pickup, please contact the Community Services Department at (909) 399-5431.

In addition to LA County Roundups, Claremont residents looking to dispose of HHW and E-waste and encouraged to check into the following local programs:
- The City will collect electronic waste as part of its Bulk Item Collection Program. Please contact the Community Services Department at (909) 399-5431 for more information or to schedule a pickup.
- The City offers a free, curbside used motor oil collection program. The City will provide collection containers and collect used oil and filters at no cost. Please contact the Community Services Department at (909) 399-5431 to schedule a pickup.
- The City provides a Sharps Collection Program at the City Yard. You must be a Claremont resident to utilize the program. Sharps must be in an approved, sealed container and may be dropped off at the City Yard, 1616 Monte Vista Avenue, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Empty containers are available for pickup at the same location.
- The Claremont Helen Renwick Library accepts household batteries. Please contact the Library at (909) 621-4902 for program details.
- The Lowes Home Improvement located on Foothill Boulevard in Upland typically accepts household batteries at their customer service desk, such as AAA, AA, C, and D batteries. Please contact the store to confirm program details.
- Home Depot and IKEA stores offer typically offer retail takeback programs for some compact fluorescent lights (CLFs), excluding long/oversized bulbs. Please contact the store to confirm program details.
- Many paint retailers, such as Sherwin Williams, will accept used paint. To find local facilities that accept used paint, please visit www.paintcare.org.
