Valet Service
Valet service is available at a special rate to residents who require assistance moving their automated containers to and from their curb. A sanitation crew member will move your container to the street for collection and return it to its location after. The city offers a discounts for qualified, low-income persons. Bulk Item Pickup
The City of Claremont will pick up three bulk items per single-family household, per calendar year at no charge. Appointments are on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note, only items listed at the time of scheduling will be picked up. Place listed items in the street against the front curb by 6:00 a.m. on your scheduled pick-up day. Items will be picked up rain or shine. Additional pick-ups can be scheduled for a fee. Please call Community Services at (909) 399-5431 to schedule an appointment.
Acceptable Items:
Acceptable items include large, bulky items that do not fit in your regular refuse container(s), such as large appliances, furniture, mattresses, and electronic waste.
Weight Limit:
What one person can easily handle.
Additional Information:
- Bagged and bundled materials are not accepted, except for boxed electronic waste. Electronic waste may be placed in a sturdy box.
- One load is considered one large appliance, one mattress, one couch, etc. City staff will determine how many loads are included in each pick-up. You will be charged a minimum of one load for each trip, regardless of whether items are available for collection.
- It is the responsibility of the customer to clean up any material spilled due to improper packaging or containment.
- Soiled, infested, or contaminated items must be sealed in heavy plastic.
- Glass items (e.g., mirrors, windows, etc.) must be taped and sealed in heavy plastic.

Construction and Demolition Debris
Construction and Demolition (C&D) material is generated through construction activities. This waste stream includes, but is not limited to: concrete, asphalt, gypsum, wood waste, glass, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, red clay brick, corrugated cardboard, a variety of plastics (PVC pipe, etc.), glass, and yard wastes. Per the California Green Building Standards Code (CalGreen), all new residential, commercial, and mixed use construction projects in Claremont are required to divert a minimum of 65 percent of construction and demolition (C&D) waste from landfill disposal.
Bin and Roll-Off/Lowboy Service
Teh City provides bins and dumpsters for home and commercial projects requiring large material disposal. Bins and dumpsters may be rented through the Community Services Department. To request a price quote or arrange to rent a bin or dumpster, please call (909) 399-5431.
Electronic Waste Disposal
Electronic waste (e-waste) may be collected as part of the Bulk Item Pickup Program. Residents that do not wish to use a Bulk Item Pickup can dispose of e-waste for free at an LA County Household Hazardous Waste Round Up. Free Used Oil Recycling
The City of Claremont provides a FREE curbside used oil collection program. The City will provide containers and will pick up used motor oil and filters for recycling. To schedule a pickup, please contact Community Services at 909-399-5431.
Claremont residents can also recycle their used motor oil by bringing it to the Claremont Certified Used Oil Collection Center at Connie and Dick's Automotive. These Used Oil Collection Programs are funded by a grant from CalRecycle.
