Commissions and Committees
Claremont has five commissions whose purpose is to advise and assist the City Council with issues related to the commission's specific area of concern. They do this by gathering pertinent information, hearing arguments, weighing values, and making recommendations to the Council. Several of the commissions also have some administrative powers. All meetings are open to the public, though the commissioners and the City Council do not typically hold meetings during the month of August.
