Our Community Development Department encompasses the Building, Community Improvement, Engineering, and Planning Divisions. Claremont's building codes and review processes are all designed to protect and enhance the community's quality of life, preserve property values, and ensure that development is compatible with the style and scale of existing neighborhoods.
The Community Improvement Division strives to improve the quality of life for all residents of Claremont by responding to community concerns and through proactive code enforcement, abatement, and community improvement strategies.
The Engineering Division is responsible for projects that improve roads, sidewalks, sewers, storm drains, street lighting and traffic signals of the City, collectively known as the public infrastructure.
The Planning Division provides guidance for the orderly development of the City and to ensure that new development is attractive and compatible with its surroundings.
