The Claremont Senior Program is actively seeking volunteers ages 18 and older to assist with a wide range of activities, services, and programs offered at the Joslyn Center and Blaisdell Community Center.

Volunteer Recognition Awards

Nutrition Volunteers

Set up the dining room, welcome the diners, serve lunch, assist with light cleanup, and have fun developing relationships with our participants! Help is also needed with working the check-in desk at the Joslyn Center, which requires basic clerical skills and a live scan with Claremont PD.

Instructors and Group Leaders

Start a class or a program showcasing your talents. It could be the inspiration for a new hobby, exercise, or community interest.

Phone Assurance Line Callers (PAL)

Call isolated older adults on a daily basis. You might be the one friendly voice he or she hears all day.

Claremont Senior Computer Club

This group is currently recruiting new members who are interested in all-things computers, from mobile devices to tablets to desktops. Members assist fellow seniors with drop-in tech assistance twice a month, attend monthly meetings, and can even lead a class--but the most assistance needed currently is with the tech assistance workshops.

Special Events

Throughout the year, we hold several special events that require volunteer assistance. Examples include the Volunteer Recognition Event (May), Vaccine Clinic (October), and Holiday Party (December).

Committee on Aging

The Committee on Aging was established to advocate for seniors and facilitate their access to a full range of programs, activities, and services that enrich their lives, and to actively promote a just and equitable intercultural society that fosters positive human relations. CoA members attend regular meetings (schedule below) and support Senior Program events and activities.

Themed Dance Events

Decorate the dining room or patio, welcome guests, serve refreshments, and do a light cleanup for our seasonal activities.

Days vary, 4:00-7:30 p.m.

Care Partners (via AgingNext)

Assist with activities of daily living such as shopping, preparing meals, running errands, and providing companionship to alleviate the loneliness that so many homebound seniors experience. Must be a senior to volunteer. For more information, please call 909-621-9900.
