Short Term Rentals

The City is considering a Short-Term Rental Ordinance that would regulate short-term rentals of homes in Claremont. Short-term rentals are rentals of less than 30-days and typically rent through a booking website like Airbnb and Vrbo. Currently, the City does not allow home rentals under 30 days in duration. To gauge residents’ concerns on allowing short-term rentals, the City is inviting residents to share their opinions and concerns about short-term rental regulations. Staff and the City Council will utilize the responses to develop effective and balanced short-term rental regulations.

Staff anticipates bringing a draft ordinance through the Commission process in early 2025.
